How proximity rules and straight-line distance work

A proximity rule asks a narrow question: is the nearest matching place within the distance you set?

Define what counts as a match

A proximity rule starts with a kind of place that matters to you. A place has to fit that definition before its distance can count toward the answer. In ConstaSite, rules cover places such as groceries, pharmacies, urgent care, coffee, gyms and parks.

Set the farthest acceptable distance

The distance in the rule is the farthest the nearest match may be from the address. Using one distance for every address keeps the rule clear and the comparison fair.

Read straight-line literally

Straight-line distance is the direct distance between two points on the map. It does not follow streets or estimate driving distance, travel time, traffic, transit or walking conditions. Those questions need different data and methods. ConstaSite labels every distance as straight-line.

Check the nearest-place evidence

A proximity answer is only as good as the place behind it. ConstaSite shows the nearest matching place, its address and its distance, along with the date of the place data. That keeps the answer narrow and checkable, without stretching it into a broader claim about access or suitability.

Use the answer at the right scale

A proximity rule tells you whether an address meets the rule you wrote. On its own, it does not judge the quality of the place, customer demand, zoning, demographics, or which address is the best overall choice. ConstaSite does not offer travel time, traffic, demographics, zoning or ratings today.
